Good quality nutrition and using food as medicine provides the basis for your optimal health. Adopting a healthy diet and using specific nutrition is fundamental to help correct health problems, enhance general wellbeing, protect against accelerated ageing and reduce the risk of disease.
Nutritional supplementation of various vitamins, minerals and antioxidants is used to address any dietary deficiencies and help you regain health. Many medical conditions benefit from specific nutritional supplements which have fewer complications and side effects than many conventional treatments.
When prescribed by a qualified practitioner, herbal medicine is a safe and effective form of medicine, which uses the therapeutic activity of plants to treat a wide variety of ailments. It has a long history of use in traditional societies and is the oldest and still the most widely used system of medicine in the world today. Modern scientific research in the form of clinical trials and laboratory investigations continues to validate this system of medicine. Herbal medicine may be administered in the form of liquids, tablets, capsules, infusions, as well as topical creams and ointments.
Flower essences support an individual on an emotional level with emphasis placed on the person's personality, attitudes and stressors affecting them in daily life. They offer a simple and effective means of addressing underlying emotional factors and help return an individual to a positive state of mind and emotional wellbeing. They can be used safely with pharmaceutical medications and work well in conjunction with psychological counselling.
Iridology involves an examination of various signs and colours in the iris to ascertain inherent constitutional strengths and weaknesses, identify specific areas of overactivity or underactivity in the body and detect underlying signs of developing disease. Iridology helps to recognise health dysfunction at an early stage of development before it progresses to a more serious disease state.
Homeopathy is an exceptionally safe form of medicine which was developed nearly two hundred years ago. One of its key principles is the 'law of similars' or 'like cures like' whereby a homeopathic remedy is one which produces the same symptoms as those the sick person complains of, and in doing so, sharply provokes the body into throwing the symptoms off. It is very effective for use in children, the frail and the elderly.
Massage is the therapeutic manipulation of the soft tissue of the body. The benefits of massage are many such as stimulation of the blood supply allowing for removal of toxins in the muscles, relaxing the muscles to reduce pain and improve mobility, increasing joint flexibility, stretching tight muscles, calming the nervous system and reducing the effects of mental, physical and emotional stress.
The initial naturopathic consultation is approximately 90 minutes in length and involves taking a thorough case-history including a discussion of your current symptoms, a review of your overall health, your typical diet and lifestyle habits, your family history, as well as any major illnesses that you may have experienced. Referrals for specific naturopathic tests may be required. A comprehensive treatment plan will then be established and follow-up consultations scheduled if required.
Follow-up consultations usually take between 45 and 60 minutes. The follow-up consultations assess how you have responded to the recommendations and future treatment options will be discussed.

Detoxification programs are available to enable you to cleanse your body of toxic build-up, improve energy levels as well as improve your overall health. The program is easy to follow and will help you to look and feel great. It involves a detoxification dietary plan individualised to your requirements as well as supplementation of certain herbs, vitamins and minerals to support the detoxification process. Programs vary in length depending on your needs but standard programs take approximately 3 weeks.
Healthy weight management programs are available individually tailored to suit your needs. The program consists of a healthy diet and exercise plan and extra nutritional and herbal support if required. Regular appointments are scheduled to monitor your progress and motivate you every step of the way so that your ideal weight loss goal are reached.
